D'ou vient le mot "rital" pour designer les italiens? Le terme rital est un terme d'argot populaire qui définit une personne italienne ou d'origine italienne. Ce terme possèdait autrefois une connotation péjorative et insultante, beaucoup moins prononcée de nos jours bien qu'encore notable.
Ce terme fut donné par les Français envers les ouvriers immigrés italiens arrivés en masse avant et après la Seconde Guerre mondiale pour travailler en France
les réfugiés (italiens ou espagnols) était affublés d'un " R " par l'administration française. "R + ital" a donné " rital ".
